https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/mandy-carlson-celebration-of-life
Mandelin Alisha-Lynn Carlson was born February 25th, 1976, In Penticton B.C. to Elwin Moore and Cynthia Fritz. Mandy spent her younger years living and working in Penticton, Oliver, and Osoyoos, in the South Okanogan Valley, a proud and true valley girl. Mandelin’s nana, mother, aunts and uncles were very dear to her. Being the only child in the family meant that birthdays and special occasions were all about her.
Mandy faced many trying times in her life but she always came out on top. The family bonds and friendships she had in the Okanogan stayed with her always.
At the age of 17, Mandy moved to Alberta, after falling in love with Clayton Melnikel of Millet. Soon after a daughter, Taylor-Rae was born, and 2 years later their son Nicholas was born. Mandy was an incredible mother and she loved her children more than anything in the world.
Several years were spent travelling and working in Alberta, eventually landing in Alsask, SK. No matter where she was, friendships were made that lasted forever.
A few years after moving to Alsask, a friendship with Tim Carlson was formed. From this a love grew and on August 4, 2012, they were married.
Living on the Carlson farm for 5 years, Mandelin helped with farm work and making the house a home. In 2015 a new house was purchased and Acadia Valley became her home. Mandy took great pride in her home and was always happy to show it off. To her the house was a mess, even when it was spotless. Everything had a place and it better be put back in its place.
Mandy’s greatest love, and in her words, “her greatest accomplishment” were her 2 children. Nothing else mattered if they needed her help. She had a sixth sense when it came to her kids. Whether good or bad, she always knew when a call was coming to tell her the news.
Everyone who knew her and even people who didn’t, could instantly feel her sense of style and class. It did not matter if Mandy had spent time to look her best, or just ran out the door, she always looked amazing.
One of Mandy’s other greatest loves was motorcycles, and they had to be Harley’s. The motorcycle world came natural to her, as since a young age she had been on Harley’s. Mandy and Tim traveled thousands of km’s on the Harley. Many trips to B.C. were made to visit family and friends, which became the highlight of the year. She was an excellent rider, from carving through twisty mountain turns, to long hauls on prairie roads, she could do it all. Sometimes, if the road was long and boring, she would have a little snooze while riding. Mandy was always the first person to randomly talk to other riders wherever she stopped.
Mandelin was a vibrant, exciting, positive person, who was looking forward to what was to come in the future. This world has lost an angel and is a poorer place because of it. She left a hole in our hearts, that we can never repair.
Mandy loved life! She tried to live each day like there was no tomorrow. She loved so much. Everytime her husband left for work, she said “I Love You”. Everytime, she talked to the kids, the conversation ended with “I Love You”. Mandy wanted to leave this world a better place than when she came into it, and she did! She touched the hearts of so many people! Mandy was all about enjoying life, and in her words, “never forget to stop and smell the roses”
Mandy was a true free spirit, a gypsy soul, with a heart of gold, who will never be forgotten.
Mandelin is survived by her husband Tim Carlson, daughter Taylor-Rae Melinikel (Josh), son Nicholas Melnikel (Kayla), Mother Cynthia Lambert (Donny); daughters, Charlene Carlson (Dan), Vaughn Carlson (Will), son Ben Carlson (Amber), grandchildren Kaedyn, Amerie, McKenzie, Summer and Jake. Nana Fritz and numerous aunts, uncles, friends, and her beloved kitty of 12 years Gizmo.
